Teaching

Teaching is important to me. I love to see other people grow and by trying to explain what we do as musicians to others, we learn a lot about ourselves. I don´t have a permanent teaching position, but over the years I have been involved in many projects. When I was the chairman of the Danish Bass Society  I started the Bassissimo and Mini-Bassissimo projects. I have also started a teaching project at The Royal Danish Academy of Music called BasForum. In 2005 I founded the Mittenwald International Masterclasses in Germany together with Prof.Jeff Bradetich. I is now running on 15 years.

Workshops/clinics & individual lessons

Together with D´Addario Strings and Yamaha I offer to teach workshops/clinics around the world. It can be group lessons or one to one.

A normal format would be a workshop lasting a few days or a 1-day clinic.

I will work with the students on subjects such as:

  • Live-Looping
  • Improvisation
  • Technique
  • Electric Upright Bass
  • Amplification
  • Composition and music production
  • Integrating electronics in performance
  • The role of the classical double bass in Pop/rock/dance music

My transportation is already paid for!

You only have to pay my fee and lodging!

If you wish to have me teach at your academy or course then you will be happy to know that we can partner with D´Addario Orchestral and they will cover all my transportation expenses.

Annual bass camp in Germany

I teach every year at our own course in Mittenwald so that is always a great opportunity to learn from me.
