Teaching
My teaching approach is based on the holistic principle I learned from Mette Hanskov. It is never enough with theory, scales and practicing on the bass. These aspects must be combined with others, if one seriously wants to develop whole and interesting musicians.
It is also necessary to remain open to different inputs and genre. It is always exciting to see people open their eyes to new musical forms or a new perspective to a basic problem. With regard to technique, I primarily use Eugene Levinson’s scale and arpeggio system, and Jeff Bradetich’s/Gary Karr’s exercises to improve technique. I have also delved into the Bulgarian School and Sevcik’s bowing exercises for long periods of time.
I teach private students and as a guest teacher and clinician at the Rhytmic Music Conservatory.
